Spring Break Fun

Last year for Spring Break, we road tripped through the Redwoods and stayed on the California coast.  It was awesome.  This year for Spring Break, we have a newborn, so traveling was out.  I decided it would be a good time to get some spring cleaning done, with all the kids home to help.  I printed off a very detailed list of jobs that needed done (washing walls, baseboards, etc) and assigned each job a point value.  Scott and I went shopping and bought all sorts of treats and prizes, and gave those things point values also.  The kids could pick any job they wanted to do and could earn the points associated with the job to redeem for prizes.  For the most part, it was great bribery/motivation to get them all to work.  I promised them that if they worked really hard to get the cleaning done, along with earning fun prizes along the way, that Scott would take a day off work and take them out for fun.

Friday came (the day Scott took off work), and there were a lot of jobs on the list that still needed done.  So we all went into a cleaning frenzy and finished everything up.  Then Scott took them all to Wahooz for a day of fun. (I stayed home with Gabe, of course.)  They played mini golf, drove go karts, played arcade games, and had lots of fun.
