Pumpkin Patch

Tuesday night we went to the Pumpkin Patch with the Moores.  It was really cold, but the kids were troopers and just ran around enough to stay warm.  Kate and I finally got too cold, and went and sat in the car till the rest were ready to go, but even we lasted for quite a while.  The kids loved the petting zoo, we went for a hay ride, the cow train was a blast (they rode around in that for the longest time), we watched pig races, ate yummy mini donuts, and just enjoyed being out with friends.

This was our first time trying out The Farmstead (there are three different local pumpkin patches).  It's a family tradition to go every year and pick our own pumpkins.  Well, the Farmstead had a ton of fun things to do, but did not have pumpkins to pick.  Aaron just lost it when it was time to go home and he hadn't picked a pumpkin.  I mean, really lost it.  He was so upset the whole way home.  So, as we pulled into the driveway, Scott unloaded Kate, Owen, and Savannah, and I headed to Albertsons with Josh, Sara, Nate, and Aaron where we bought each kid a pumpkin.  And then all was well.

School Projects

It comes in handy having a best friend to work with when you have school projects. Josh had to make a boat to race at school, and he and Carter had a great time making theirs together. They thought they were so grown up using Scott's tools to make their boats.

The next project was a model of a colony. Carter's was due first, and then he gave it to Josh to disassemble and make into his own. Sara made the clay pigs for Josh's colony, and I glued the toothpick fence together, so it was a bit of a group effort.  I find I'm really struggling to keep up with 5 kids' homework and projects.  I can't wait till our week long Thanksgiving break!

Sleeping

I seem to have a lot of posts about Owen sleeping.  He just falls asleep in the cutest positions, and I can't help but capture it on camera.  Here's some more sleeping pictures of Owen.

He's also pretty cute when he's awake.

6 Months

Kate turned 6 months last week.  She is growing so fast.  Yesterday she cut her first two teeth on the bottom.  And she's really trying to crawl.  She loves to get up on her hands and knees, but hasn't figured out how to coordinate one hand in front of the other for moving.  She just drops to her belly and army crawls around the place.  She continues to be the happiest baby ever.  She is just such a joy to have in our family.  There is not a day goes by that I don't think about how lucky we are to have her.  She is the perfect addition to our family, and everyone of us is so in love with her.

Here's a sampling of pictures I've taken over the last month.  Oh how I love this little girl of mine!
