Scout Camp

Josh went to a full week of scout camp (Monday June 20th- Saturday June 25th).  I worried so much about him.  But his leaders were really great about taking pictures for me.

Heading out on the first day.

A lunch of hotdogs and watermelon then off to merit badge classes.

Tuesday was beautiful weather - sunny with a high of 72. Their day started at 7am with breakfast at 8. The boys spent the morning in merit badge classes. Several of the boys saw deer in the campground and were excited about that.

Lunch was hoagie sandwiches with a side of pudding.

More merit badge classes in the afternoon.

 Free time activities (pinecone baseball)

Dinner was burritos and churros.

 Wednesday the 22nd

Pretty sure the only clothes Josh wore there was his swimsuit and swim shirt. I guess as long as he took regular dips in the lake, it was like washing it.

That night Josh headed out for his Wilderness Survival overnight. He had a sleeping bag but had to build his own shelter. I was so nervous for him, but was assured there would be camp staff near by.

Thursday June 23 - He survived the wilderness!

Lunch was sloppy joes. The boys enjoyed the all you can drink milk. (Josh promises that he didn't drink all of those, although rumor has it he threw up after drinking most of those.)

More merit badge classes and the evening around the fire.

June 24th - Final day of merit badge classes

KP duty after breakfast

With merit badge classes are over, the boys had some free time.  The weather cooled off with temps in the upper 50's but no rain.

Saturday morning they packed up camp and headed home.  I was so happy to have my boy back! (He spent the whole day passed out asleep on the couch!)
