Moving Into the Rental

My parents came for a few days to help with kids while we moved out of our house and into our rental.  We moved a week before we had to be out of our house, so that I could have that last week to go back and pack up all the last little things and clean it.  I think my parents were just as sad to say goodbye to our house as we were.

I mentioned earlier that when we accepted the offer on our house, we all made bucket lists to do before we left. Fire pit was on everyone's list.  Our old wooden crib that we got when we had Savannah, and used on 7 kids, needed thrown away.  It broke with Owen and I patched it up.  The patch broke with Kate and I knew that it wouldn't be safe to use with another baby.  So, we decided to buy Gabe a new crib.  We took the old crib and burned it in the fire pit our last night there.  It was very cathartic.

July 23rd was the day that we made the transition from living in our Lost Canyon house, to living in our rental on Prickly Pear.  We went to the church pioneer day celebration in the morning, then spent the rest of the day moving.

Kate was so happy to have her chair in the new house so she could nap.

It was really weird sleeping in a different house that night.  And while it was sad, we knew we still had another week with our house, so we all managed to hold it together (mostly).
