The Long Drive Home

When we headed to Aberdeen on Friday, the drive seemed extremely long.  So on the way home on Sunday, I planned to have us make some fun stops along the way to break up the trip.  Our first stop was at Massacre Rocks just outside of American Falls.  The visitor's center was closed, but they had a great nature trail that we walked around.

All of the kids took turns reading the information signs along the trail.

Even Owen read a sign.

Our next stop was just 10 miles up the road, at Register Rock.

Then it was back in the car for a few hours.
Kate was a happy traveler.

Owen and Kate took an hour nap, and things were very quiet for a bit.

Our last stop was at Shoshone Falls just outside of Twin Falls.

 It was really WINDY!

The kids were hungry, so we bought them some pizza and drinks from the little food stand there.

Kate was very happy to be out of her car seat.

We finally decided we'd better be on our way, and we piled back in the car and finished out our drive home.  The kids had a wonderful time on our adventures that day, and they kept thanking us for taking them to those places.  It turned out to be a very happy Easter.
