Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day, we went to Aberdeen.  We left Saturday morning and drove straight to Pocatello for the Hayes family reunion.  The theme for the reunion was Mexican.  Scott rocked the hot sauce competition (if you look close, his eyes are still watering in the picture).

All the kids took a turn at the pinata.

Then we lined all the kids up by age.  It was fun to see the height differences.  Most of my kids were tall compared to other kids their age, except for Savannah.  She felt so tiny surrounded by those tall boys.  Also, notice that Josh and Sara are standing side by side.  None of my cousins had kids that year!

Savannah and Kate snuggling on the stage.

Sleeping quarters are really tight at my mom's house, but my kids love it.

On Sunday, some of us walked home from church.

Owen found a tumbleweed stick on the walk, and had to drag it through every mud puddle he could find.  He kept saying, "I want to get it nasty".

On Monday morning, we went out to the boat dock to watch Grandpa participate in the American Legion's ceremony for those soldiers lost at sea.  And then of course we stuck around and let the kids play for a bit too.

We headed home around 2 in the afternoon.  Kate was asleep before we even left the city's limits.  The kids had a great time playing and wearing themselves out at Grandma's.
