Sledding

WARNING!  PHOTO OVERLOAD!

Our kids' elementary school has the best sledding hill.   Scott took the kids earlier this winter, but I stayed home that time with Kate.  This time, I decided to brave taking everyone.  Savannah wasn't feeling well, so she chose to stay home.  But the rest of us went and had a great time.

Kate wasn't so sure about going down on the sled.  She had a look of horror, and couldn't catch her breath, on the way down, but once it started to level off she started laughing.

She quite enjoyed getting pushed around on the tube.

Aaron's favorite way to sled is on his belly, wearing a garbage sack.  He has no need for sleds.

Josh crashed and hurt his backside more than once.

This little boy owns my heart.

Kate started to think that sledding wasn't so bad.  This sled had been left by someone else, so we decided to give it a try.  Kate climbed right on.

But when Sara climbed on behind her, she started to have second thoughts.

We soon realized that it wasn't the soundest sled, and it tipped over mid hill, spilling Sara and Kate out onto the snow.  Kate did not appreciate that.

Against my better judgment, I let Scott talk me into taking a turn on the tube.  It turned out to actually be a lot of fun.

Kate and Owen were getting cold, so I ran them home and left them with Savannah, then I headed back to the school.   By the time I got back, Aaron had moved on to standing on the sled and snowboarding down the hill.  He worked so hard to be able to stay standing the whole way down.  Not to be outdone, Josh had to give it a try too.  By now Nate was pretty cold too, so we made them all gather the sleds, and we headed home for hot chocolate and hot baths/showers.
