Santa in the Park

Scott traveled again this week, this time to Dallas, Texas.  He got home very late Friday night.  So I planned a date for him with his kids for Saturday afternoon.  I stayed home with a napping Kate, and Scott took the older 6 kids to see "Despicable Me 2" at the dollar theater.  I figured he needed time with them just as much as they needed the time with him.  They all came home happy and had a great time.

After they got home from the movie, we all headed to our town's Christmas celebration.  This time Kate and I got to come along for the fun.

Our first stop was Santa's lap.

Kate didn't mind Santa a bit.  But, Owen wanted nothing to do with him.

But, he was happy to take the candy cane Santa offered him.

Some hot chocolate around a fire.

Face painting for all the kids except Owen.

 And some children's crafts.

I don't even remember what prompted this sad tear....

But a few silly faces from Dad, and all was well again.

Even Owen loved doing the crafts.

A picture of the kids in front of Eagle's Christmas tree (Owen was too busy coloring still).

The Moores came with us.  Savannah and Maggie--these two are so cute together.

It was cold, and Kate got tired and fussy quickly, and we kept losing Aaron in the crowd, and Owen kept crying over everything......but it was a fun afternoon, and it was great to be together as a family.
