Aaron's 8th Birthday

Aaron turned 8 years old on May 27th. We had his friend birthday party the Saturday before.  And he got to go shopping with Grandma and Grandpa Howell the day before his birthday.  So this was his third birthday celebration.  With Aaron, you can't celebrate enough.  We had cake and ice cream, and he got to light his own candle.

8 year olds no longer make messes with their cake for cute pictures, so Kate filled that role for us.

Next up was presents.

Savannah used her own money to buy Aaron a stuffed animal (he really loves his stuffed animals).

His buddy Randy gave him a card with rare coins (it's a thing between them, collecting rare coins) and a CTR tie tack.

Josh gave him a $10 bill.

And from us, he got real leather scriptures with his name engraved on the front, and a scripture case to carry them in.

I'm so proud of the young man Aaron has become.  He is truly a delight to have in our family.  He is smart, imaginative, has an amazing memory, has a love of learning, is creative, fun, and entertaining.  He has a heart of gold, and loves his family so much.  He has overcome so many challenges to get to where he is.  When he was little, I used to complain about how stubborn he was.  It was a hard characteristic to have in a toddler.  But it is that stubbornness, determination, and perseverance that has allowed him to become the strong boy that he is.  I love him fiercely and am so honored to be allowed to have him as mine.
