Scott had been talking for months about the Basque Soccer Friendly that was coming to Boise. I had looked into getting tickets, but they were $30 a piece, so I decided not to try and attend it. But then our friends at the Special Olympics sent out an email that the Special Olympics teams had been given some free tickets and we were able to get 5 of those tickets! Savannah had no desire to go watch soccer, so she stayed home and watched Kate, Nate and Owen for us.
Scott served his mission in Basque country, so he dug out his old Basque hat and wore it to the game.
They held it at BSU's stadium, which usually sports blue turf. But for the soccer game, they brought in sod and laid it on top of the turf. At half time, they brought out a fire truck and used the hose to water the turf.
The Basque team won (against Mexico), and we really enjoyed watching the game (even if we were up in the nose bleed section with the sun beating down on us and in our eyes).
