Eagle Fun Days

Last weekend was Eagle Fun Days. We usually wait for the parade closer to our end of town, which is at the end of the parade route, and they are always out of candy. So this year we went to the beginning of the parade route, and the kids raked in the candy. It was great!

Nate was feeling pretty droopy at the parade. When we got home, it took him all of 5 minutes to find a place on the floor and fall fast asleep.

That evening, we went to the Eagle Rodeo for the first time. We left Owen home with a babysitter. Our kids loved it (as did Scott and I). About half-way into it, Aaron and Nate started to lose interest. It was getting late, and they were really tired, (Aaron actually started to yell "I hate the rodeo!) so I took the two boys home and Scott stayed with the older three kids till the end. He called me when it got done, and I loaded up the three little boys and went to get them. The older kids were on such a high from the rodeo, that they really wanted to just walk the whole way home (3 miles). So Scott started walking with them, and I met them along the way (they made it a mile). They were so excited and kept talking about the bull riding. By this time, Aaron was wishing he'd stayed to watch the whole thing, and was really sad he'd missed the bulls. We assured all of them that this would become a family tradition, and every year we'd take them to the Eagle Rodeo (except next year I'll leave Owen and Nate home with the babysitter).
