Blue and Orange Scrimmage

Scott was offered tickets from work to attend the BSU Blue and Orange Scrimmage.  He got 9 tickets, so technically our whole family could have come.  But we knew Kate and Owen would not have enjoyed it, so I traded Anne for Brynne and Liam, and she watched Owen and Kate for me.  Sara decided that she isn't really in to football, so she chose to stay with Bess and let Carter go with Josh.

The seats were up in the company box suite, which turned out to be a huge blessing, because it poured rain almost the entire game.  We bought pizza and nachos to feed the kids, and they were all happy.

After the game, they were having a concert out on the field.  As part of our tickets to the game, we also were invited to go down on the field and attend the concert.   We hung out under the bleachers  during another short down pour of rain.

When the rain stopped, we made our way out onto the field.  It was the first time we'd been out on the blue turf.

As we waited around for the concert to start, the rain started again.  The kids didn't care.  The boys played capture the flag.

The girls weren't so accepting of the rain.  In addition to being wet, the wind was blowing and it was cold!

Finally the concert started.  It was Jordin Sparks (she won American Idol years ago).  We stayed for a couple of songs, then we left.  We were all soaked and cold.

The boys were less impressed with the concert than the girls were.

We had a long walk back across campus to where we had parked the van.  The sun was setting in front of us, and there was a rainbow behind us.  If we hadn't been so cold, we might have enjoyed the beautiful scene a little bit more.
