Thursday was the perfect day to be outside. The rain storm we had the day before had dropped the temperatures into a comfortable mid-70's degree day. So, we spent the whole day outside. We went to the zoo.
In with the Wallabys
We had lunch at the zoo--Owen enjoying some apple juice and Nate showing off his hot dog.
Feeding the goats and sheep at the petting zoo.
Butterflies in Bloom. This is a seasonal display (it's only there June-September). It was definitely a favorite. The butterflies really liked landing on the girls' hats.
Aaron REALLY wanted a butterfly to land on him, but he had a hard time holding still long enough.
He tried wearing Savannah's hat (since it seemed to attract so many butterflies). But, that didn't work.
As we were getting ready to leave, a big one landed on Nate's hat.
We carefully took Nate's hat and placed it on Aaron's head, so he could have a butterfly on him.
And since Josh hadn't had any land on him, either, we put it on Josh's head, too.
Outside the butterfly exhibit.
The kids got to ride the carousel.
Inside the Penguin Pavilion.
Owen was a delight the entire time.
Aaron driving through the African Savanna and Nate watching out for lions (I love the imaginations on these boys).
