Savannah begged us to put up our Christmas Tree on Thanksgiving (she knew her dad wouldn't let us before Thanksgiving). So Thanksgiving night, after we had our pie, we got our tree out and set it up. For years, we have fought whole sections of lights that won't work, and after not having any luck, have just positioned the dark part of the tree toward the wall. This year, as we were trying to "hide" the lights that were out, I decided it was time to just get a new one. So the next day (Black Friday), Scott and I purchased a new tree. It took a few days for us to get the old tree down, and the new tree up. And then it took days more after that to finally get around to decorating the tree. But it finally got done, and it is beautiful.
And just like all the other years, the bottom half of the tree is not safe from our toddler. The first morning after the tree was decorated, Kate had a blast playing with the "balls" and throwing them around the room.
And then when she tired of the tree, she moved on to the stockings. It's a good thing she's so cute, so we still keep her around.
