Pioneer Day has extra meaning at our house, because it's also Josh's birthday. We always go to our Stake's celebration and feel like we are kind of celebrating Josh as much as we are the pioneers.
The horse rides are always the kids' favorite thing to do.
Owen wasn't such a fan of the horse. Savannah was a good sport to hold him and talk him through it.
Josh skipped the horse rides this year, so he could be in the dunk tank.
They had fun crafts for the kids to do, a fishing pond, unlimited snow cones (I think Josh ate 4), and a picture taking station--where we got these fun pictures (the boys were off playing and missed the pictures).
By the time we were ready to head home, Sara, Nate, and Aaron had joined in the fun of the dunk tank and were soaking wet. Sara was in denim capris, so she wasn't able to dry out in the sun like the boys were, so she walked home with me and Owen (in the stroller). Owen fell asleep on the way, so Sara and I had some nice alone time together on our walk home. It was a really fun morning.
During the afternoon, I took Savannah clothes shopping while Owen napped. Then when we got home and Owen woke up, we went to Eagle Island. The kids really wanted to bring friends, so we ended up taking two cars, three pizzas, 10 kids, and 2 adults, and let the kids play in the water and sand for a couple of hours. It was a great day.
