Savannah's 14th Birthday

October 2nd was Savannah's 14th birthday.  Because it was an even year birthday, she got to have a big friend party.  She debated for weeks over what she should do for her party.  In the end, she decided to go low budget for her party, because what she really wanted for her birthday was to go zip lining (which is a spendy activity).  Scott was more than willing to step up and take her.  They left the morning of her birthday and drove up to Horseshoe Bend.  Judging by the pictures, I'd say it was a perfect birthday present for her.  They both had a fantastic time.

Savannah had a few hours back at home before it was time for all her friends to arrive for her party.  We served them pizza and pop.

Then when it got dark, we moved outside for a movie under the stars.  We showed the new Cinderella and had plenty of movie snacks and popcorn for the girls to eat.

14 years!  Gone by in a flash.   14 years ago I became a mother. It was a rough road getting there. A year of trying for a baby, followed by infertility testing, and then a diagnosis. A round of fertility medicine. A miscarriage. Another round of fertility medicine. Another miscarriage. One more round of medicine. And finally a healthy baby girl! Savannah was our rainbow at the end of a very long and dark storm. I am so grateful for this beautiful girl I've been given. She is as beautiful inside as she is out.  She is kind and honest and loyal.  She is responsible and good.  She is everything I've ever hoped she would be.  I really love this girl and couldn't be prouder of her.
