Two

Two is a fun age, but also an exhausting age (for mom too)!

While Dad (and Savannah) Are Away, the Little Ones Will Play

Trying to entertain these kids all summer long is going to be a full time job.  It gets even harder when my best helpers are gone and I have to do all the entertaining.  But, we managed to find some fun stuff while Savannah was at Girl's Camp and Dad was on his golfing trip. 

The kids played a game of Monopoly....that lasted the entire day. 

And we had a painting party out on the patio.  All the kids LOVED this, and ended up with paint all over, but it was washable paint, so it was all nice colored fun.

 

 

More Travels

While Savannah was still at Girl's Camp, Scott took a trip to Wisconsin to do some golfing.  I have a bad habit of taking on extra projects when Scott is gone, and this time was no different.  I needed to refinish the shutters on the front of the house, so I thought I'd tackle it.  It ended up taking longer than I had expected (the entire day), but I think they turned out great.

First I took all the hardware and boards off, then I sanded everything smooth.  I tried to find a stain in the garage that would match well with the front door.  But, as I put it on, I decided it was too orange.  So then I wiped a darker stain over the top, which gave it a cool "texture" that I really liked.  

All finished.  

 

Fountains and Ice Cream

While Savannah was at Girl's Camp, we took the kids to the fountains again.  My little kids love it there.  Josh and Scott had football practice, so I took the other 5 kids, then Scott met up with us at the very end. 

 

 

Trying to get a good smile out of this kid is nearly impossible!

 

There was a playful and friendly dog there, and the boys loved playing with it and the water.

The boys love the climbing tree nearby.

 

When the kids started to get tired, we walked across the street to get ice cream to give them more energy.

Then we went back over to the fountains for a bit more fun, till Dad and Josh arrived.  The kids were tired and ready to go by the time Scott got there, so Scott helped me load them all up, then he took Josh across the street to get ice cream for them too.
