Football Party

We celebrated the end of an awesome football season for Josh's team with a party up at Lucky Peak.  My girls were really hesitant about going, because they wouldn't know anyone, and it would be a bunch of football players (they aren't interested in football).  But, they quickly learned what Josh and Scott already knew, that this group of guys and their families are awesome.  They are so friendly and so fun to be around.  Our whole family enjoyed the day with them.

We started out up at the picnic area with lunch.

 

After lunch we headed down to the water to play.

One of the moms had brought water guns, and all the guys had fun shooting each other out in the water.

These two ladies are the team moms.  They are amazing and put in so much time and effort into that football team.

All the guys made their way down to the fountain and braved the freezing water for a picture.

These guys love Josh.  He's the little brother all of them wish they had.

Scott made Savannah go out there too.  He had to do a little bit of coercing to get her to all the way to the fountain.

 She pretended to not enjoy it, but she really did like it.

Then we headed back up to the picnic area for cake. It was a wonderful day with some wonderful people.

Kitten Love

Getting my kids kittens was the best thing I could have done for them this summer.  All of my kids are so in love with these kittens.  And the kittens are so even tempered and good about letting the kids pack them around.  Especially Kate.  She tucks them under her arm and packs them around like a baby doll, and they just let her.

Helicopter

With my dad's speaking engagement at the Warhawk Museum, he made some connections with some military people here.  One of those connections was with a guy who owns a landscape business, and happens to have an old military helicopter that he keeps there.  He invited my dad to take the kids out to see it.  The helicopter was awesome, the weather not so much.  It was really really windy, and with it being a landscape farm, there was plenty of dust to blow around.  If it hadn't been so windy and dusty, it would have been much more enjoyable.  But even with all the dirt blowing, the kids were fascinated with getting to climb in a real helicopter (although Owen was quite disappointed that it couldn't fly).  (We went out to see the helicopter on Father's Day - after Josh and Scott got home from their trip and after dinner - it was a busy day.)

Father's Day

Scott and Josh got home from Moscow just in time for dinner on Father's Day.  I didn't do anything too fancy for dinner, because I wasn't sure they would be there in time for it.  But I did make sure there was a table full of presents to greet him when he got home.

 

We are so grateful for this dad of ours.  He works so hard to provide for our family.  And he gives each and every one of his children special attention and love.  We love him!
