The last week of school was crazy busy for me and Kate and the little boys, trying to attend all the end of the year parties and presentations. I guess that is what happens when you have 4 kids in the same school.
Savannah graduated from Elementary School and will be headed to the Middle School next year. I can't believe how much she is growing up. We attended her awards ceremony, where she received the Presidential Gold award and said goodbye to her teacher, Mr. Ursillo, who she's had for the last two years.
I attended Joshua's writing celebration in his class, where he got to show off some books he made this year (an ABC book about football, and an Idaho History book). Josh has come a long ways from his first grade year, when I was convinced he was dyslexic because he wrote everything backwards. Josh is a great student.
I got to go see Sara's dinosaur presentation that she did as part of Challenge, and another time I went to see her octopus presentation that she did in her class. I also got to join Sara for a picnic the last day of school.
Scott helped out with Savannah's last day party, where he was in charge of running relay races for the entire 5th grade. He's a great dad.
Aaron didn't have anything that I needed to go to, but I did take in donuts for birthday treats during the week. Aaron has come a long way this year. He went from not being able to hold a pencil correctly (and thus everything was illegible), to being able to write stories. I took pictures of some of his work.
(I am double jointed) |
Aaron also typed up an ABC book at school. I retyped it here, word for word (and letter for letter). Not too bad for a 1st grader.

Now we are onto the carefree schedule of summer vacation. I truly love the summers. I love having the kids all home. I love not having to enforce bedtime (lots of late night movies and popcorn). I love seeing my kids just be kids, enjoying playing in the backyard, riding bikes, playing with each other and friends. If only it could be summer vacation all year round.
